Cappamore Famine Memorial

The idea for the piece was generated whilst researching contemporaneous observations made in the West of Ireland at the time of the Famine. The bronze depicts a starving and homeless family resting on the roadside. The bronze sculpture measures 61 cm x 46 cm. It is mounted on a granite stone outside Saint Michael's Catholic Church in the village of Cappamore, Co. Limerick. It was commissioned by the Cappamore Historical Society.
