MOTHER AND CHILD, GLENGORMELY, COUNTY ANTRIM.

A new church was designed for the Parish at St. Bernard’s, Glengormley, Belfast, Northern Ireland. The architects, Dempsey Architects, commissioned it on behalf of their client to execute a mother and child in bronze for the main body of the church. The initial drawings were for a seated mother and child, 1.8 metres in height to be sculpted in timber. The final design, however, is of a standing mother holding her child, cast in bronze and measures 1.68 meters in height. This sculpture was cast in the foundry CAST LTD, South Brown Street, Dublin.
